Hi, It’s Me God, Rosemary!

Hi!! Rosemary here and I’m ready to rock your world, financially. As a finance person, my time was invested in my career for over 10 years advising the most successful Christian families and entrepreneurs on their finances.  I’m thrilled to be contributing to BE Mag with all of the things that I’ve learned can move the needle in our personal financial world.

Growing up with a family of finance people, and a unique gifting in business, I’ve had the opportunity and experiences of more than a lifetime when it comes to money. I speak from my own experience, not those of others, and always make it relatable to women who like to have FUN. In addition to my business in wealth management, I’m a proprietor of Livingstone Farm 1860, a luxury farm-stay property an hour west of the GTA, an Airbnb operator for an additional 2 properties, a professional investor, a published

author of a book titled Practicing Hospitality: The Art and Science of Hosting in Your Home and a master level practitioner in three mindset and performance coaching bodies of work. There’s more but those few are the most important professional details. Let me disclaim now that I'm as straight a shooter as they come; locked and loaded, I take no excuses or prisoners when I'm communicating.

Personally, I’m a single thirty-something woman open to the opportunity to meet Mr. Right For Me and welcome as many children as God’s willing to provide into our family. I’m a dog mom to a champagne labrador named Stone who is fun and sweet and somehow fitter than me when we get the same amount of exercise every day. Serving God is my number one goal and accountability, and volunteering in my local church is a high priority of mine. I’ve got a church resume that spans kids ministry to events to finances to board of directors and more. I’m also a sister to one, a best friend to few, a coach to a number of women and a confidant to many.

All in all, living the dream and loving all the good parts of it, and knowing the bad parts will be good stories one day. Enough about me, let’s talk about money.

Starting off, I’d like to prime the pump with a foundational article to reframe the way we talk about money and how we use it to accomplish our goals in life. It’s not spending, it’s investing. Taking a look at where we invest, and why is the next step. Then we can assess where we want to add and take away and strategize on behaviour modifications to do so. This is not budgeting, I repeat, this is not budgeting. This is about investing. Once we are clear on that, changing a lot of our language around the words we have used in the past will be important to stay away from in the future. We will cover how to back out of a girl’s trip that’s not a priority right now, highlight where we can take more responsibility with our finances and refocus on what’s important to be investing in.

This is important in the context of resource management - time and money being the biggest ones we will have in our control. Getting this one right will change your future and the future of your family, and your businesses, and I believe that's important enough to God to be sure roughly 2,000 verses on money were included in the bible.

I’m going to share all of the areas of money that can be tightened up in your life in small chunks so that you can easily manage to follow along and journey with me and the women of BE Mag in the process. Come along with me and let’s get ripped, financially.

-Rosemary
